7th AND 13th TEE PROJECTS
Aims and Objectives
7th Tee

a. To create more teeing ground, particularly for the white and yellow tees, in order to be able to deal with wear and tear.

b. Create two purpose built tees, one for the white and yellow and one for the red. Both tees to face the green and not be impeded by tree growth on the right. Some trimming of trees on the right might be required, however, we want to avoid thinning these trees too much, in order that they screen the railway.

c. Tee bankings to be a mixture of heather and grass.

The above four pictures show the 7th tees following completion
13th tee

a. Redevelop the existing tee, which is very uneven and faces in the wrong direction.

b. Create three seperate tees - white, yellow and red with heather edge

The completed tees at the 13th front he back and front
d. re-do the path leading to the tees.
Summary
There have been many considerations during the planning of these tee projects, including having one large, raised tee to cater for both 7th and 13th - or criss crossing the 7th and 13th, in order that the 7th could be played from a different angle and the 13th could be played on the straighter line. However, these options have been ruled out in favour of keeping both tees seperate from each other and with the 13th remaining on a lower level than the 7th. The 7th will become wider at the back, meaning that the 13th white and possibly yellow tees will have to move further to the left, making the hole very slightly more of a right to left dog-leg - there will also be some tree/scrub removal required . All of the tees will be developed using existing soil from the site and we hope to be able to salvage most of the turf, which will be re-used. The seats and water fountain will all be repositioned when shaping is complete.
