The General Committee

Since 1990, Liphook Golf Club has been managed by its General Committee. When it was founded in 1922, the Liphook Golf Club Limited was the constitutional owner and operator of the Golf Club; changes in legislation have caused a steady erosion of the power of the limited company. Today, the Trustees/Directors of Liphook Golf Club Ltd are obliged to act as directed by the General Committee. There is a full account of the changes which have taken place over eighty years in The Liphook Story of which copies can be bought in the Secretary’s office.

Members of the General Committee are elected for a term of three years, standing down in rotation. There are four elected 'officers, The President , who is also elected for three years, and the Captain, Vice Captain and Treasurer who are elected each year.
