- The normal, and preferred, way in which suitable candidates
are introduced to the club is by being proposed by a member
of at least 3 years standing. A current handicap of 28
or less (36 for ladies) is required for full playing membership.
At the moment the application process should not take more
than a few months to complete.
- However, we recognise that newcomers to the district
may not know a member of the club, and understand that
keen golfers may not wish to delay applying for membership
while they become established in the area. In such cases
the committee may be prepared to propose a candidate for
membership if they are able to submit a letter of introduction
from the Secretary of their current/previous club.
- Beginners or lapsed golfers without a handicap
may apply to become a temporary member of the Club for
a period of up to 18 months. Certain conditions apply during
this period. A member of at least 3 years standing should
normally propose the application and, in this case, the
process should be completed within a month or two.
- Additional classes of playing membership comprise Intermediate
(18–28 years old), Junior (8-18 years old) and Country
(for those residing outside a radius drawn as the crow
flies of 50 miles). Similar joining procedures to those
set out above apply.
- Social membership may be available to non-golfers and
those whose playing days are over.
The same application process applies to both men and women. The next section provides details
of the entrance fee and subscription structure currently
in force.
