Ian and senior assistant Mark Macrae are both fully PGA qualified and have gained a wealth of experience in coaching players of all standards.
Their belief is that all golfing skills can be learned and strive to help their pupils reach their own potential to gain greater enjoyment from playing golf.
Initially the pupil receives a free 15 minute assessment before a personalised improvement plan is developed and agreed upon.
Technology is now playing an even greater role in golf swing improvement and at Ian’s indoor academy your swing can be analysed on the gasp video system and achiever launch monitor, highlighting both your strong and weak points.
If being able to see your swing helps, then feeling the correct swing is invaluable. This is achieved through the explanar swing trainer, which allows the pupil to experience their optimum biomechanical swing helping to create muscle memory. This system is described by Butch Harmon as the best he’s ever seen, and uses it every day at his own golf school.
Club personalisation
Naturally this same swing knowledge and technology can help to identify the correct clubs for a golfer. As every golf swing is different, it’s only natural that clubs should be personalised to that unique swing.
When purchasing clubs, key factors such as swing speed, launch angle, grip thickness, lie angle and length all need to be considered. Quality clubs can be tried and compared to find the one that works best and at no extra cost when a purchase is made.
