Liphook Ladies Section

Liphook Golf Club has a thriving and active ladies’ section with over 100 ladies playing regular competitive and social golf. 

We pride ourselves on having a very welcoming and friendly section, catering for the experienced player as well as those new to golf. 

The club runs a very successful Introductory Membership scheme which is designed to encourage the new golfer to achieve a handicap. There is currently no waiting list for lady members.

Competitions

The main ladies’ competitions mainly take place on Tuesday mornings and are scheduled all year round.  The competitions are played in bookable tee times.

Summer     0800-1230 (March to October)

Winter        0830-1230 (November to February)

In addition, there are two alternative weekend competitions for working ladies each month which are linked to the Tuesday Stableford or Medal competitions taking place the following week.  These weekend competitions, played in threes, have a reserved bookable tee time on either a Saturday or Sunday according to the diary.  Weekend Competition tee times: 1045-1115 or 1115-1145.

Silver – Up to 20.4 Handicap Index

Bronze – 20.5+ Handicap Index

Major Competitions

The ladies hold seven major competitions throughout the year which are followed by lunch and prizegiving.

• The Spring Meeting Medal and Foursomes (two day competition in April)
• The Club Championship, 36 holes Medal (one day competition usually held in June, no formal lunch but prizegiving in the afternoon)
• Ladies’ Invitation (one day competition in June)
• Ladies’ Captain’s Day (one day competition in June)
• Bronze Championship Medal (one day competition in July)
• The Autumn Meeting Medal and Foursomes (two day competition in September)
• Festive Foursomes (one day competition held in December)

Other Competitions

In addition to the regular weekly competitions, there are a number of other competitions that take place at weekends and which are open to all lady members.

These include the Murray Claret Jug, the Blois-Johnson Cup, the Fowley Cup, the Flower Vase, the Millennium Trophy and the Martini Trophy.

Matches

There are a number of external matches for the Ladies’ section.

Hampshire Competitions

The Stoneham Cup - teams of 7 players, singles matchplay, handicaps to 24.
The Hayling Salver - teams of 5 players, singles matchplay, handicaps 24+
The Knight Cup – foursomes pair chosen to represent Liphook in a knockout series.
